Is this a good amp for a 12 alpine type s in a ported box

Hard to say without the actual part #. I did a google search and I only saw 4 channel amps. If that's the case, I would say no as you would want a mono amp.

Id stay away from sony amps and from kenwood 2 channel amps..... whats the RMS wattage on them?? around 300 then id say a 500-600 amp is good but id preffer an alpine, eclipse (though ive heard they are out of businnes dont know if its true) i have a neighboor with performance technike amps and they work pretty damn good.
