Norwegian 69 Short Step
Hi there!
This is/was a plane jane, with an inline six and a 3-spd manual. Plans are to do a static drop, upgrade to disc brakes, power steering etc. Motor will be a ´88 Corvette TPI and a 700R4 tranny. Bjorn Tore |

Re: Norwegian 69 Short Step
Here are some pics during disassembly. Great news, it turned out to be near rust free.

Re: Norwegian 69 Short Step
Showing fuel lines, and a stainless exhaust witch is a real headache as I like to route it thru the crossmember. If anyone has pics or the "recepie" on how to do it, u´re very welcome

Re: Norwegian 69 Short Step
Here is the hinge after blasting and yellow cromatizing (don´t know what it´s called in the US...) they look more "bling" on the photo than in real life.
After installing discbrakes, the lug-bolts are too short. The front is wider than rear, what do you guys do to compensate for this? -longer bolts and spacers? Also showing my Ron Davis radiator, whitch is a piece of art, and a direct fit without any fab. Last pic is a Photoshop drop of the truck, as I hope it will look when finished. Happy New Year to all! |

Re: Norwegian 69 Short Step
Thanks, it came out fine. Really like your choice of motor, the 302 is my favorite. The TPI that I´m putting in is in fact the engine that was in a ´69 Z/28 Camaro that I had som years ago. I was then able to track down the original 302 and I still have it It´s not the original DZ-block, but a 4-bolt 010 from ´71. The guy who bought the Z/28 pulled out the TPI and sold it to me. So it´s all goes in circles...

Re: Norwegian 69 Short Step
Finally got my kit of stainless steel brakelines and park brake cables from Inline Tubes. This was going to be a enjoyable plug´n´play weekend. -Guess what, almost nothing did fit, and the new clips did fall off the frame.
