Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
Why so cheap? On top of that it appears s/he is having difficulty selling it?
No rust either? What gives? |

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
Ad says it looks good from far. Bad sign. Could be full of bondo. Also find it hard to believe it has no leaks.

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
may have issues...but the market is REALLY soft right now and that area of the country has no shortage of rust free vehicles...

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
Market is very soft here, and there are a lot of rust free or minimal rust vehicles around here. I would be willing to go look at it if someone is interested.

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
I just called and got voice mail. I will try to see it tomorrow, weather and schedule permitting. It is about 45 minutes from me and it is snowing today. I will get more pics if I am able to see it.

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
I just got off of the phone with the owner. He is a very nice guy and he told me that the Suburban has been in his family for 22 years. It does have some rust, he said that it needs both rockers and has some rust over the rear wheels. He did say that the floors and kick panels are solid. I am supposed to look at it tomorrow and I will post more pics and an accurate description then. I have been a body man and painter most of my life, so I should be able to give a decent description of it.

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
In addition to the condition of the body, let us know if you think it could be driven from New Mexico to North Carolina too!
I think that a good running 'Burb for $2200 would be worth a weekend road trip!

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
I told him that I was looking for someone who was in NC and he said that he wouldn't hesitate to drive it there. He said the reason that he wants so much for it is because it runs so well.

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
I looked at that truck a couple of years ago. It has more rust than would be expected from a NM truck and has been repainted several times. At the time he was asking $4K for it. The price is much more reasonable now....JMHO

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
So Rob....do you remember the bad spots, or are you saying that a west coast guy would run from it and an east coast guy would call it rust free?!?!?

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
I just tried to go see the Suburban and he told me that he thinks that it is sold. Someone is supposed to be coming in from Dallas with a trailer and cash. He will call me tomorrow morning if the guy doesn't show up. I will update tomorrow. If I am able to see it I will post many pics.

Re: Anyone want a Suburban?
If this was the aqua colored burb with original wheel covers, I passed it on
I-40 about 100 miles east of Albuquerque headed east on a flatbed pulled by a pickup with Texas plates, about 2 hours ago. I told my wife, there's that burb I showed you on the board a couple of days ago. Hopefully a board member snagged it. |
