Someone on the BB used late modle Firechicken markers. They were in the stock location but painted to match the body color. It looked sharp but I don't remember the name of the post.Maybe try sidemarker lights?

i've put on some early to mid 80's chevy/gmc van side marker light assemblies on my 68 shrtbd. they sit more flush w/ the sheetmetal and the light emitted is a larger area...the whole lens ,unlike our side marker assemblies in either standard style or the deluxe style normally found on our trucks.i got all four at my junkyard for $20 and cleaned and polished the plastic lens......looks like a million bucks!!

Looks like I need to wander the boneyards again. I want a smoother more flush look like you are describing. Thanks.

I did the same thing as Buxman66 - they look sweet and are a bolt-in replacement. I'm pretty sure the Firebird lenses took a little bit of fabbing to work.
They're pretty cheap, too; IMO, with lenses, just get new ones, since old ones will probably be awfully faded already.

And yes, I need new turnsignal lenses, heh. Getting those along with new rear lenses, probably this spring break...

if you do happen to get some old lens that are faded or "burnished",from like gasoline splashing on it,get some autosol polish (i got mine from eastwood) and they'll polish right up.

Here's a comparison Between the Deluxe Marker and Van Marker lenses in the dark. Both with stock 194 bulbs.

I like the look of the 70-81 firebirds. Guess I have more choices than I thought. Thank you all.
