1970 Chevy C10 value?
Alright guys, I'm here again. I looked at a 1961 apache a month or 2 ago and it turned out to be completely shot so back to the drawing board. I found a 1970 Chevy C10, with a 305 out of a Camaro, carburated, with a built 700R4, comes with good fenders in the bed and NOS rockers installed. The interior is rough, some rust on the floorboards but it looks fairly good, needs to be sanded and painted though. Then bench seat needs reupholstered and new padding put in. The trim pieces are all there but the center black stripe is gone. It has some sort of goofy looking roll pan on the back that would have to be replaced with a real bumper. Now the good, the cab mounts are good, the 700R4 was just rebuilt, the cab corners are perfect, the frame looks good with no rust. it has extra door glass and a complete extra set of guts for both doors. The bed looks alright, a bunch of scale though on the bed floor, it was used as a truck and has the dents and dings that come with it. The paint is also shot with some surface rust scattered around on the truck. It was a texas truck, never seen snow or salt. I'm figuring if I get it I would end up pulling the 305 and putting a built 350 in it and selling the 305. I'm just trying to figure out a rough value of this truck. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 value?
No hits on this yet? The guy wants to trade me even for a 1976 Firebird Espirit I have. The pontiac is in a bit better shape than the truck though. Paint on both is shot, and both have some rust, the pontiac has less though.

Whats the value of your car he wants? These trucks hold great value. I have owned 8-10 of these trucks.

Even up there is the rust world, I would say the truck is 1500-2000, with the extra pieces maybe 2500. Down here that is a 1000 or less truck. Not sure what shape your car is in, engine, miles, etc....but the eaverage on a Firebird would be around 3000 (less if it is ate up with rust).

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 value?
The pontiac is anything but ate up with rust. it has 2 dime sized holes in the right rear quarter of rust through and some scale around the back glass. less than 15k miles on a built 350 HO and less than a 1k miles on a fresh TH350. I figure that the car's worth between 3-4k right now. it needs carpet, upholstery, paint, some body work, and some trim pieces. It was a california car it's whole life, I pulled it out of the desert when I was in the Marine Corps stationed out there. The only thing on the pickup is it's got a fresh built 700R4 and supposedly the 305 is low mileage. The bed doesn't have any rust through but it does have a ridiculous amount of scale and would have to be sanded, primed, and bedlined.

The truck looks good, but unless he is willing to toss some change with it I would say your bird is worth more.

I'm forced to agree with you Palf, I like the truck though. I think I'm going to wait for the bird to sell and find one then. Thanks guys.
