Best place for Wheels and Tires?

I am looking to get some new rims for my 87, not sure what the best place to order from. I have asked two local companies for quotes but I am thinking online companies might be cheaper.

What I am looking for:

Crager Keystone Classics Series 32 15x8
275x60 R15 rears
235 x 70 r15 fronts.

Thanks

Re: Best place for Wheels and Tires?

Where did you look at if you don't mind me asking?I personally like summit and have had great service from them. I bought some wheels last year and had them within 4 days, shipping was around 15$, i would recomend to just get some tires locally if you go that route, here is a link, total for just wheels is about 676$ and some change..

Tire racket and some others that I dont remember. I am a little concerned how the wheels ship and if they will arrive in good shape. The local stores are doing $1200 for tires and rims.

Re: Best place for Wheels and Tires?

They arrived just fine for me. MY dad has ordered a few sets of wheels from them and has never had any problems. Never hurts to shop around a bit more though...

Re: Best place for Wheels and Tires?

I have bought, literally, dozens of sets of wheels from Summit. I used to work at a shop where we lowered new trucks. Every truck got a full Belltech suspension and wheel and tire package. We ordered all of the suspension and wheels from Summit on the companies credit card.

I never had any issues with the wheels being damaged. The only issue out of all the wheels ever was when Centerline misboxed one wheel. I called Summit and they had Centerline drop ship the proper wheel next day air no questions asked. They then sent UPS out to retrieve the misboxed wheel.

Re: Best place for Wheels and Tires?

I ordered my wheels on ebay. They were the best price I could find. I got them in rather quick also.

Re: Best place for Wheels and Tires?

UPS dropped one of my aluminum 18" rims. Box was crushed and rim was bent. If you can order them with the tires already mounted then the chance of the coming damaged is greatly reduced.

Re: Best place for Wheels and Tires?

There is an element of risk, but I would search all of Craigslist to get an idea about used wheels just for information - unless you don't mind spending the $$$ for new wheels. As soon as your new wheels are installed - they are now used wheels.

I would have to agree. I saved almost $450.00 by going thru Tirerack for some 16" BFG's All Terrains.
