auto door locks?

so the '99 locks the doors for you, but when you go to get out, you need to hit the button. is this normal, because its really annoying.

yes that is normal to turn off the autolocks u start with the key off. pull and hold the high beam swich. while holding it turn the ign on then off 2 times. let go of the high beams and u will hear the locks lock and unlock then hit the lock button 2 time and ur done

so will that disable locks all together, or just make it so the doors unlock when you put it in park? i just want to know how to get my doors to automatically unlock!

it will disable the auto locks all tougather i think there is a way to program them to do what u want. check your owners manual of that

If that doesnt work I think you will need a tech 2 scanner to disable it atleast thats what my buddy told me that works at GM. He also printed me off something similar to what orange70350 said but it didnt work but ill try it again. But you can change it to unlock when you put it in park or unlock when you pull the key out. My 99 GMC does it and I dont see what the point was to not unlock at all unless you hit the button.
