Help with Autometer gauge identification - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am trying to decide between the Autometer Cobalt and Sport-Comp II series of gauges. The problem is I can't find a store locally that carries these and the pictures on the internet are inconclusive to my eyes. I plan to order them online. The question is do these series of gauges have a chrome or "shiney" bezel ring or are they a painted silver (brushed???). I think the Cobalt is chrome and the Sport-Comp IIs are silver. Am I right? Anybody own either of these??? Real life pics are appreciated.

went to autometer site and got little info about bezel type, but Summit describes the Cobalt series as "anodized" i.e. polished and coated aluminum to prolong shiny finish, and Sport Comp II as "silver", which is likely painted aluminum or steel housing.

Yeah I saw all that, the pictures just look so deceiving. If I spend $1000 on a full set of gauges I want to know what I'm getting...and I hate going through the trouble of returning an online order.

i know what you mean.........so give Autometer a call on their tech line. i'm gonna go Autometer also so on my gmc build.

My daughters bought me a Sport comp Tach and it had a brushed silver bezel, I sent it back (it was to big) and ordered an "Ultra Lite" tack which also has a brushed silver bezel.
The Ultra lite gauges are nice, the numbers light up instead of the face of the gauge. Have you looked at those?
