older rims on an 05 yukon
now im sure this has been discussed before but i havent been able to find a thread in the search
i have some older rims (rallys) that i had on my 73 blazer that i would like on my 05 yukon, the hub sizes are different which would put all the weight on the lugs instead of on the hub, is this ok? or should i find a newer 15" rim to put my tires on for the yukon? |

Re: older rims on an 05 yukon
Could you make/machine some sort of spacer to locate on the OD of the hub and the ID of the wheel you want to run? Or maybe you'd get lucky and find a piece of tubing that would take up the space. It would just need to be as thin as the mating faces of the wheel/hub

The 15" rims won't clear the brake caliper on the 05 without grinding the caliper down. You can run the earlier, larger hub opening wheels on the newer one without an issues. I have been running aftermarket 16" wagon wheels (for an 70s 4x4) on my 02 for 2 years now and no issues. Just check and make sure your lug nuts are torqed properly and checked periodically and you shouldn't have any issues.
