3 point seat belt hole

Do all 67-72 chevys and gmc have the threaded 3 top hole? The wife is looking at getting one for her dd and needs to have a car seat in it that uses a 3 point belt. Thanks.

I don't know about all, but mine does. It's a 68, pretty base model too. Good luck with the dd

I have seen 67's with them, so I would say yes.

The hole is threaded? Is there a nut on the back side?

Re: 3 point seat belt hole

It is a anchor for a belt. The size is 1/2 fine thread[ my 68 is anyway] I belive that the belts were not mandated by the goverment until 71 model year if I recall correctly what I have read. Jim

I always thought it was just a plug? Good to know, I can just go to Chevy and pick up a new harness.

My small window 67 C10 is as base model as they came and it has the mounting points for the shoulder belts with plugs in them.

I think it would be safe to say that all the 67-72's have the capability to have shoulder belts installed as it was probably an option for all the years.

Re: 3 point seat belt hole

What 3 point harnesses work for these years of trucks? My girlfriend is uncomfortable riding in my truck without seatbeltsso i figure i need to get some before next time i go driving around. Are there any that just bolt up that are easy to find.

I'm wondering that myself..I found these (link below) but I'm not sure if they will mount up correct..If anyone knows please advise...

LMC trucks has the three point but they are 90 bucks each..I know there is no money limit on safety...

Those from the link above[ hid counrty] look really good for the price. They don't really look factory like they would have been there since the late 60's but, I"m not really going for that. The price is about 50 bucks per side cheaper than anything I've seen . If any one has tried these to know for sure post it up. I will be calling them soon. Jim

Re: 3 point seat belt hole

Nice to see more color and buckle choices. They have some great options. I like this mounting hardware http://www.julianos.com/anchor_plate.html but not sure if it's just a gimmick to sell their product. I guess you have to buy the hardware separate anyway.

I will keep an eye on this thread. My son wants the 3 point belts in his 67. His truck has the CST factory buckets so I guess we would want to use the web stem instead of the ridged stem. Any opinions? Sure wish the cheaper belt company made the metal push button buckles like the more expensive belts.

Re: 3 point seat belt hole

I did'nt get a chance to call today, had to go pick a new wreck I bought. I borrowed a International rollback from a friend of mine to go get this truck and it has belts in it that look just like those in the pics from one of those advertisers. Just a thought there may be some possibilties there for a used seat belt. Jim

Id say a couple eye bolts with some free pull strap tie downs for quads and bikes that i got from bike bandit would be my personal money limit for safety if it were just me.

Re: 3 point seat belt hole

I ordered a set from Ecklers, about $200 shipped. They also have the GM logo button, which I like alot. Comes with all the bolts needed to install. Also, my 72 had the holes for the upper mount as well, but it sounds like the consensus is already that all 67-72's do. I've had my belts for a few months and haven't put them in yet...maybe that's tomorrow's project

Re: 3 point seat belt hole

I installed a set from WESCO performance, and the price was very affordable. All four floor points needed an L bracket. See final page of my build thread below my signature for the results. They look and work great. I did have to drill one new hole for the driver outboard retractor, since the gas tank was in the way.
