which one?
Just finished my frame up rebuild of my 68 GMC swb a couple weeks ago. Im already looking for a new project... As much as I love these trucks, I want to build something else other than another truck. I have around $15k to play with but would like to keep it around $10k. So far I have found 2 projects Im really interested in. I just cant seem to make up my mind which one-
What do you think? This one- http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/2115260127.html Or this one- http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2139145804.html The only thing Im worried about is the T/A would cost more than what my budjet is to fix up... |

Re: which one?
Even though both are "birds", I'd have to stick with GM since I owned a Formula 400 back in the day.....

Re: which one?
tbird, hands down. see those Kelsey Hayes rims? those damn things are 1500 clams in themselves..... in CRAP condition. come on man, swing away wheel, wide whites, wires, cockpit dash layout, red and white interior with black lacquer? you'd be freaking nuts.....
I'm not hating' on TAs by NO MEANS, but geez. and the bird will hold it's value a helluva lot better than the TA.

Re: which one?
I like the late 1970 vintage TA's, not so much on the turbo models.
My vote is for the T-Bird. The T-Bird will be worth more, and the cool factor is higher.

Re: which one?
the t-bird just has more appeal. nice gloss paint on the bottom, lace or big flake metallic top, add fuzzy dice on the inside and call it done

Re: which one?
I used to think the same thing until I had to work around a few of them....believe it or not those late 70's TA (in very nice restored condition) will bring 30k plus all day..... I had one I will admit but I would go for the T-bird personally, they are just too cool!

Re: which one?
Just ran across this pic :
Really nice!!!! But I bet if I tried I could find a just as nice of pic of a T/A. What I have found is that restoration parts for these years T-Birds are hard to come by.... |
