72 C10 from start to today
This is my sons truck from when we started tearing her down to what she looks like today.............. We have done everything ourselves, so needless to say that this is not a show truck. But my sons daily driver. Working on his truck brings back so many great memories of my dads only new truck he purchased in 1971 which was a 1972 3/4 ton Cheverolet Cheyenne hugger orange, with a white top.................I wish I had the truck, i took my drivers test with his truck.....

Re: 72 C10 from start to today
Did you have to do any work on the floor? My 70 Stepside's floor is rusted out and especially right where the cap support arm attaches to the rocker through the floor pan. I bought the truck as is because the rest of the truck has no rust, but I've never worked on a floor before. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes we did remove and install new rocker panels, sheet metal on the drivers door at the bottom. Cab supports were good. The only advise I have is measure twice and cut once. Removing and installing rusted out panels and sheet metal isnt hard just take alot of precise measuring and cutting. Make sure you seal all the panels and voided areas with seam sealer. I highly recommed this, it works great. His truck around the drip rail around the cab was cracking and we removed it all and applied new sealant around the drip rail and in some other areas such as pillars, rockers and kick panels. I showed my son how to use a mig welder and actually he was better at it than myself, so all I did was tack weld the peices and he welded them all. Right now we are working on the charging system...........good luck............and hope to talk more..........soon.............

Excellent. Thanks for the input. We'll see how it goes. Here is a pic of the truck and the area i'm talking about.

Coming along- keep up the good work! The only thing that concerns me is the missing brake booster! Teenage driver = power brakes are mandatory (or drop a straight 6 in it!)
