project 66 Goldilox

hey guys new to this site. I have been workin on gettin my project started and have looked through this site for some ideas. I have decided to z my frame front and back. Here are some pics of my project when i brought her home. I got the original door and finder with it. my idea is to leave the body alone and run it like it is but layed out or close to on 20's. Any advise or ideas is welcome.

Re: project 66 Goldilox

Ok I have a few questionson on what I'm planin on doin this
weekend to the truck. First as you can see I z'd the rear 6 inches
so I'm planin on z'ing the front 5. Has anyone had any probs
with that amount of z? Next is what do you have to do to the
front fenders to lay out? And last can I flip my crossmember
instead of my ta mounts sence I have to modify the botto
to lay I can just do the top?

Re: project 66 Goldilox

Looks like fun. So how does the drive line work with the rear cross member / trailing arm mount? And do you have to tunnel up the floor of the cab for the tranny?

Re: project 66 Goldilox

the cross member wil have to be modified on top with a loop and the bottom will get plated to make it not hang lower than the frame. i will have to tunnel the floor 4 inches which is what i z'd the front.

i like your idea of leaving the paint alone and the progress and work look really good. keep it up.

Re: project 66 Goldilox

Nice work so far, I love a z-frame build. Toyed around a lot with doing my own frame with a Z, but decided that for where I live and what I need my truck to do it just wouldn't be practical. Glad to see another one being built, and looking forward to seeing it rolling.

Dude .... agressive work right off the bat. If you gonna go .... you did.

I dig the stance. Can't wait till the metal is hung again for a total look.

Keep me in the loop.

Re: project 66 Goldilox

Got my motor and tranny set in today for mock to see
how much I'll have to modify my ta mount for drive shaft
looks like a loop up about 4 inches will be enough so next weekend
it's tear down for paint then body back on
