Water Leak Question
I have a 71 GMC C20, when it rains I have water coming into the truck(carpet is very wet) on the drivers and passenger floorboards, closest to the sides. NO holes in floors.
Possibly coming in through the side vents or ?? Anyone know how to fix this? It leaks with the vents open and closed.

Re: Water Leak Question
Has the windshield been replaced, and the weatherstrip as well?
In my Suburban, the rubber seal doesn't seal to the glass very well on the driver side. It's like the channel that the glass sits in is to wide for the glass, and I get water pooled up on my dash and drips down the kick panel and makes the carpet wet.

Re: Water Leak Question
I dont have any holes in the firewall or the channel on the firewall.
I'm guessing its the seal on the drip rail or the windshield, however the top of the dash is never wet. Best solution to fix the drip rail channel? Silicone?

Re: Water Leak Question
I wouldn't. 3M has a product just for that purpose. I added a picture of where mine was leaking at the lower windshield seam. I cleaned all of the seams out and re-caulked them. It can also leak in at the antenna cable if it is not sealed good. LockDoc

Re: Water Leak Question
Thank you to all. I will wait for it to dry out here a little, been raining so much, and try your advice.

Re: Water Leak Question
Mine leaked real bad just like you described in the floor too. I cleaned the channel on top of the cab and used brush on seam sealer (also available in tubes like caulking)in the channel. I also brushed it inside the cowl area at the front all the way across .It rained all day today and for the first time since I bought this truck a year a go it did not leak.
