Front end rebuild kit?

Where are you getting the best front end rebuild kit from? I see LMC has a decent looking one for about $450. Any better quality priced ones to look at?

I agree LMC is junk. I started buying MOOG from Orielly untill I found www.Rockauto.com they are a lot cheaper and I didn't have to pay any taxes. The parts shipped direct from Federal Moogul.

Re: Front end rebuild kit?

I priced Moog Rock Auto and Amazon. I ended up going with Early Classic Enterprises and I'm am glad I did. The price difference was marginal and the top notch customer support from ECE was well worth the couple of extra $.

Re: Front end rebuild kit?

Has anyone looked at Kanter Auto Parts? A few years ago I did a front end overhaul on another US built 1978 truck front end and had excellent results with all the parts purchased. I have a '69 GMC 2500 and a '69 Chevy C10 that I will be rebuilding the fronts on soon and will try them first based on my experience. I do not think they sell modified parts for lowering etc, but it might be good to check them out.
On a side note, Thanks for the advice about MOOG parts, I have not tried that route, but will be sure to try them.

Re: Front end rebuild kit?

I just priced all Moog parts at Oreiley's and it was over $660, I got all the same from Rockauto for $440 including shipping. You have to wait for it, but for $220, I'll wait!

Re: Front end rebuild kit?

I used the ECE rebuilt kit, I also priced mine through LMC and also Oreilly, ECE was cheaper and They were all Moog parts. I rebuilt my front and it is night and day difference. You get what you pay for, I would NOT buy anything but Moog front end parts.

Re: Front end rebuild kit?

Steering, brakes and suspension are too important to skimp on.I like Moog or TRW for all that stuff.I also don't much enjoy suspension work so I don't want to do it over.

Re: Front end rebuild kit?

I bought all my front end stuff at Star Auto. Partsmaster is their store brand. Made in USA. Identical to Moog in every way, same exact thing. I compared them side-by-side. 1/3 the cost
