1985 Chevy Reg Cab, SB-What Engine

What was the original egnine, or engine group offered in 1985 Chevy trucks?
I figured I would ask the experts instead of trying to decipher all the Google info.

Thanks
Mike

I thought the inlines weren't a option in '85? Since they were replaced by the 4.3.

Edit,

Oh. You can always go somewhere like Advance Auto Parts website. They have a thing where you type the year, make, model, and it will give you a option to pick the available engines. Even tells you the Vin code for it.

Tha 7th digit in tha vin will tell you what engine it had..

It's like this 1GCDC14DXDF etc. tha 4 would be tha engine code..

It could be a 292 Inline 6 -454 V8..

Re: 1985 Chevy Reg Cab, SB-What Engine

Thanks...I will get the VIIN. Just looking to add another BOWTIE to the collection. I don't have an 80's model and have done little research. Found a nice 1985 for 3000.00, but did not advertise the engine, but did mention the 350 was not avaiable in 1985? Thats why I asked; and should generate some comments..

Thanks again for the Info

I'm thinking when it said 350 not avaiable meant it didn't have tha 350 that came with tha truck..or they had no clue what they where talking about.

Only the 4x4's had an optional 350. Normal C10 the biggest you could get was a 305.

350's were only available in the 3/4 and 1 ton, along with the 454.

I think your right the 4.3 replaced the inline 6.
