Question Will this Tranny / Transfer case fit my Blazer?

Hey there, I have a 72 K5 Blazer that is currently a 350 / 350TH / NP205. I want to do a manual swap and have a line on a NP205 and 4spd ( I haven't gone to look yet but assumption is SM465). It is currently still in a 1976 GMC 4x4. Will this year parts be a straight swap as far as Tranny, Adapter and Transfer case or did the parts change between '72 and '76. Looking for some informed opinions. Thanks in advance for any help. Jeff.

As far as I know the parts match up exactly other than date codes of course. I wish you were closer since I have a 100% stock 1972 K5 with the 4speed and 205 case. Are the parts you're looking at from a k10 or k20, I've run into different yoke sizes between the two on some of the earlier trucks, not sure about the mid 70's parts though. Sharpie

Thanks Dennis. I'm not sure if 1/2 or 3/4 ton, waiting for the guy to call me back. I guess I just wanted to make sure the adapter was the same between the years as I knew the tranny and transfer case themselves were. Never even thought about the yokes, thanks for the heads up. I wish you were closer too cause that would be one hell of a road trip. Google Maps says it's about 3500 miles round trip. Could you meet me half way . I originally drove to Flagstaff, AZ to pick the Blazer up and it was 4900 miles roundtrip.

I do travel to northern Minnesota at least once a year, but usually not until summer. Sharpie
