Question M&H Wiring - Any experience with them?

I'm getting ready to place an order for a few wiring pieces and wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with their products/service.

http://www.wiringharness.com/

So, let's hear it.

I purchased a complete wiring harness for my 1969 Firebird from M&H. Outstanding product and exact match to factory. I highly recommend them.

skokie, rcrahn: are the wires named on their full kits? Or do they provide you with a guide to the install?

Factory colors on all wires?

Re: M&H Wiring - Any experience with them?

From what I remember they were identical to what I pulled out of my truck but in a lot better shape. Also forgot to mention that they are nice people to that will ask any question you throw at them. I must have spent 2-3 hrs peppering them with questions. Give em a call.

Hope that helps.

Re: M&H Wiring - Any experience with them?

I used them and have nothing but good things to say about their tech. support...

engine harness
headlight harness
modified by M&H...headlite relay(hi, low beam), HEI & tach., electric water pump, alternator on passenger side, electric choke, electric fan

The only thing I forgot about was larger size wires for the headlites, carries more current

All connectors were correct for OEM, and correct wire colors

Changed my '72 GMC front headlight harness to a '70 Chevy headlight harness.

Make sure you keep your original harness and compare the part you get back from them to it...anyone can make a mistake, but its your truck that will suffer

Follows factory wire schematic

A vehicle is broken down into several harness, each M&H harness is an exact copy of the factory harness, with the correct color wire and correct connecters. There is no guess work. The sub harnesses come individually packaged. As you remove one you replace and plug in the new. Simple.

Re: M&H Wiring - Any experience with them?

I rewired my 68 Suburban with all of their stuff.
I had a problem with a miss pinned plug, it drove me up the wall to tell you the truth. But their techie Darrin was a pleasure to work with, even though my frustration was high he was able to help get things squared away.

I live within driving distance to their shop, so I took in my harness which they corrected in minutes free of charge of course.

Even with my troubles, I'd recommend them. Since the product they sell is a perfect match to the OEM looms, and if you have technical questions/issues their tech support is top notch.

Re: M&H Wiring - Any experience with them?

I have their stuff on my bb truck and it is as nice as the oem and looks exactly like it without the gm parts sticker. American auto wire and m&h were at one time partners and they split, their harnesses are alike and pretty strong competitors if I remember correctly. All plugs are as oem and are plug and play. Very nice parts. For the record the entire bb truck is wired with M&h and the 4x4 is wired in american auto wire- there is no difference in either set both are top notch!

in case all those recommendations aren't enough for ya, I used their HEI engine harness on my 70, and their rear lighting harness. Nothing but great things to say about my experiences with that company.

Awesome guys, I really appreciate the info.

I have placed a rather small order, but the first of its kind. More updates to come.

Darrin is who I've been working with, and he was great!

Well for the one small wiring piece that I purchase shipping was pretty high (like 1/2 the cost of the harness) but... that is to be expected given the current economy.

Re: M&H Wiring - Any experience with them?

I used M&H for the harness for my 68 Chevelle and they did some revisions for the change to Alternator on the right side. They also offered a new modern style fusebox (uses new plastic fuses) that I installed in my Chevelle. They are great people to work with and the harness is a bolt in just like the factory harness, not like those harnesses that you have cut off the connectors from a 40 year old harness to install on your new expensive harness. OEM GM color codes of the wires too. I use them exclusively for OEM rewire jobs.

Re: M&H Wiring - Any experience with them?

M&H and US Autowire are all that we sell and use. They are the same harnesses with different names on them. I have totaly rewired 4 or 5 trucks over the past year or so with thier harnesses and never had a problem. I don't even bother to remove and replace as I go. I just tear it all out and install the new ones once I am done with the tear out. I have had a couple of customers complain about a misplaced pin like what happened to vectorit, but they helped them figure out the problem and always paid the freight both ways to fix them. You won't go wrong with their harnesses. WES

Factory colors, factory connectors AND exact OEM length. Just use any factory wiring diagram. Be sure to tell them if you've modded anything. Each harness is made to order so it's very easy for them to accommodate an HEI dizzy etc.
