65 swb fleet, good deal? INPUT
This guy is asking $4,000. Not sure on all the specs yet. What do y'all think? Crappy phone pic that was sent to me.

Re: 65 swb fleet, good deal? INPUT
The truck looks decent from what can be seen, but it’s really hard to know about a fair price without a close analysis. Condition is everything. Rust in the typical areas are expensive enough to repair. Extensive rust can reduce the value to not worth buying. Beyond that are all the standard old car/truck issues come into play like how well is runs, stops, steers, as well as whether it has any special features like a big back window, optional gauges, accessories, etc.

Re: 65 swb fleet, good deal? INPUT
Git r dun! I'd buy it. Barring some horrendous rot that's not apparent, I'd say it's worth it. Minor rust thru in a few spots with a good frame - I'd say it's still worth it.

I don't get some people and their lousy cell phone pictures. That truck looks as though it may be sitting at the bottom of a lake. You need good info and better pics.

Re: 65 swb fleet, good deal? INPUT
You have two choices. Have the owner send alot of better pictures or if it is close enough and go look at it.If neither of these are possible then wait for another truck to come along.

better pics will not do it for you. All vehicles and houses look great in a photo. If it has a working drivetrain and a little rust....buy it!!

definately need better pics. that one is a pic of a pic. you can tell by the line across the top. the pixels are fuzzy which makes me think he took the pic on his computer monitor. how far from you is it? its easy to hide rust in pictures. its always better to see it first hand if possible. if it really is a rust free swb fleetside i would say its well worth the $$. good luck

Body's straight, paint looks good, dash is untouched and looks to be orig with underdash A/C. I'm guessing the rest of the truck is just as nice. If it is, go for it. Ive seen alot worse asking the same money. Go for it!!

Re: 65 swb fleet, good deal? INPUT
I'd say from what I see. IE. Short box, Nice body, Clean Original dash w/ air and Custom side and interior trim package, chrome bumper and grill, AND Original steering column automatic trans shifter.
That alone tells me its a 4 grand truck pending any hidden issues. Buy it drop-n-drive I agree, make a Breif offer for maybe 3600-3700. But but dont offen the guy....Like I would...lol

Re: 65 swb fleet, good deal? INPUT
I would just take plenty of time and inspect it thoroughly. Bring a little magnet with you to check for bondo if you're not good at hearing it when you knock. Get under it and all around it. look at every little bolt screw and washer to search for signs of hidden problems.

If it's as clean as it looks in the pics, I'd buy it.

Re: 65 swb fleet, good deal? INPUT
If that truck was in Iowa it would be worth a lot more! I paid 3 grand for my 64 because it came fom Arizona, basically rust free. I wish I could get my hands on his buddies that worked on it for him Though. I think if it moved did't smoke and stopped okay I'd buy It

Re: 65 swb fleet, good deal? INPUT
Check the rockers, cab corners, bottom of doors, and inside the hood for rust. If no rot is found, you are getting one hell of a deal! Super nice truck! Matter of fact, I'm a little jealous!
