1989
454/th400
Dana 70hd
power windows and locks

It was free..... .

I traded my 74 for it & my 74 was purchased w/the insurance check I got for the damages to my 68 Beater. I still have the disassembled 68.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Well I did swap wheels and went to 285/75/16s (33"s) with 1.5" spacers between the duals.

I don't really plan to lift it, but I want it level, I haven't decided whether to do 2" lift springs in the front, or pull a leaf or two in the rear to bring the rear down a couple inches. Kinda leaning towards dropping the rear for a better ride. I don't need two lifted trucks, I just wanted a little taller tire to bring down the RPM's with the 4.10s and no overdrive.

The tires right after I put them on, excuse the truck, it's filthy, and the wheels need to be polished, I'll probably have them done, I'm to lazy to polish them by hand.

This will tell you how long I've been driving these...and it was not even my first new one ...$13,500.00 Canadian when I special ordered it back in 1980.

Every possible option...including buckets and tach ...that was a lot of money back then ...our new 3 bedroom house was 60,000.00

Re: What did you pay for your dually ?

I got my truck in July 2010. A friend of mine found it in central Michigan after I had been looking for about 3 months for one of these. It was down to this one or drive to northern Wisconsin and get another one that was heavily customized.

I traded my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 for this truck and a check for $7000. The electrical system on the Dodge was crapping out faster than I could get rid of it!

1989 R3500
454tbi with TH400
Dana 70 with spicer axles
Alcoa wheels
Power windows and locks
Rear slider
Darn near perfect interior

I have rebuilt the rear axle
rewired and installed the dual tank system
changed the fuel pumps so many times I can do that asleep!
Made a custom towing bumper for this body style of truck
Removed the running boards for ground clearance and looks
Many other things in process, wish list is currently much larger than pockets are deep!!

Re: What did you pay for your dually ?

I paid 700 dollars for this one. It was too much, but I wanted a cab and chassis, small block, 4 speed truck so my pickins were slim.

Next time I post a picture of it on here, it won't be recognizable. I'm doing a lot of work to it now.
