Re: Camaro Tach

While a cool idea to bring a stockish looking tach to our trucks. It just looks so out of place.

Like I said, it's a cool idea. The needle doesn't bug me as much as the gauge face, lettering and font does. Probably cost just enough in time and effort as it would to spend $50 locally to someone for stock truck tach cluster.

a tach truck cluster is hard to come by and is way more then 50$. also the truck ones only go to 5k. i have high performance built motor im easily out of that 5k range. for a stock truck. youd be fine with only 5k tach

I like this setup. Is it possible to swap the needle on the camaro tach with one from our trucks speedo? I see that the needle may be to short but if they are interchangeable you can always add a piece to it before its repainted.

Re: Camaro Tach

I have seen the camaro speedo used in our trucks also. I don't know what was done to make it work.

thanks just wondering, my brother has one factory in his 76 and my cousin picked one up for his 87 out of a junk yard for 50 bucks a while back, it was out of a 73-80 but did the tach didnt work in we put it in his 87? is there a difference between the 73-8 tach cluster and the 81-87 tach cluster? what can be done to fix the tach or whats it worth not working

Re: Camaro Tach

I'm wondering how close a early 80s grand prix cluster tach would be
back in early 90s i found one ,repinned it for my 81 lemans
best/only shot i got of it so far, no it's not your eyes...
aside from needle colour.....could change both
