$800.00 you stole that truck! I drove a 70 chevy truck (started in high school) and it was exactly like your truck! enjoy the site, lots of very helpful people here with great information. welcome& enjoy! cheers, Pat

Was that $800 correct? Unbelievable! That thing is solid looking. How do you guys come up with these deals and I always miss out? Looks to be worth $2G to me. Good job!

Anytime I see a mostly original truck I always like it. Remember to keep it "as it was not as you wish it was"

Re: new guy with a 1972 gmc lwb truck
im not sure what i want to with the truck,i dont want to take it off the road but i need to get a heater it was -21 below the other day makes a cold ride to work but it started right up!!! it needs new wheels and tires any suggestions on them??? also the rockers are rusty so is the floor i can see the road so maybe just some basic body work while i drive it.the other thing is the trim it only came with a few pieces of trim still attached so i pulled it off im thinking about shaving it off but not sure the easy way to remove the clips that hold it on...

Re: new guy with a 1972 gmc lwb truck
If you have a welder, you should be able to do small stuff while keeping it on the road. Just an opinion, I think the trim hides the lines and curves of these awesome bodies, so I'd keep the trim off and weld the holes up and put a coat of primer on it. Thats what I'm gonna do with mine. I think your wheels look good until you paint it.

Re: new guy with a 1972 gmc lwb truck
Yeah, I know, mine too. But ya gotta do it if you're gonna fix rust. And fixing the rust should be done as soon as possible before it gets worse.

Re: new guy with a 1972 gmc lwb truck
Welcome to the GMC club. It will be interesting watching your truck as you tweak it. Just don't do what I did, rip it all apart and then watch it sit for ten years...I had to buy another GMC to drive in the meantime! Enjoy it for what it is and plug away at the fixes one at a time.
Be seeing you around the board.
