Another rear end question
A few weeks ago...with the help of some of you...we identified my trucks rear end as a Dana 44. Some online research led me to decode the bill of material # or BOM. The BOM said I had a Dana 44 out of a 69-71 International 1/2 truck or Scout with PWR Lock and a gear ratio of 3.31.
So I marked the yoke and rear end and turned a wheel one turn. (Posi works) 3 and little over 1/4 revolutions for one tire rotation. Does that 'compute' to 3.31 gears?

Re: Another rear end question
3 and 1/4 turns would be 3.25 so a little over that sounds about right.

Re: Another rear end question
Thanks. That's what I thought. Probably why I get pretty good mileage...that gear ratio combined with OD tranny. Kind of an odd choice for a rear end though?
