Is this part number correct for a 57 truck?

I have this turn signal cup that has p/n 5944126 moulded inside. It is too big for my steering column and when I google that number it takes me to Corvette Central where the cross reference list says it fits 53-57 Corvettes. Anyone know if this part should fit my truck?

OK, no one knows? Maybe the way I posted it the first time it didn't make sense. I got it from another forum member and it was on a 57 truck, but it's too big for my column. It doesn't look worn inside so I'm wondering if it's a correct 57 truck part. I don't have a parts manual and Googleing the p/n only shows up Corvette Central.

Do you mean that it's too big for your column, in that the outside diameter is to big for the steering wheel, or the inside is two big for the shaft? On mine I had about a 1/8 to 1/4 gap between the column and the i.d. of the turn signal unit. I fabbed a piece of sheet metal to help the little wedge have enough 'bite' to hold the unit in place, really just a spacer.

Thanks for the response. It is the correct diameter for the steering wheel but the hole is too large for my column. It's far to large for the little wedge to even come close to tightening it on the column. I thought about making a sleeve for the column but thought I'd post here to see if what I have is even the correct thing.
