Door wont open from the inside...any ideas?

My drivers side door will not open from the inside. I have to roll down the window and open it from the outside to get out of the truck which is kinda annoying. I've taken the door panel off to try to get a better look at what's going on with the latch mechanism and all I can tell is that it needs to move just a hair more to release I believe. Is there any way to adjust the linkage?

You should be able to loosen the 3 screws that hold the remote control assembly (the part the inside door handle attaches to) and rotate the mount on the door to provide the travel needed.

tried that...no joy. It still won't open from the inside. I have a NOS door latch that I can install, but I want to try everything else first.

Any more ideas? I don't have to work tomorrow so I want to do a few things on my truck

The guy we got my daughters truck from, drove it for 7-8 years with the same problem. I was looking in the door, right after we got the truck, I noticed one of the springs were off back inside the door by the outside handle. I clipped the spring back on, and it is working now. The spring behind the inner handle is broken also on hers, but it is still working for now.

If you take out the three screws and pull on the flat rod does the door open? If not, it is possible the latch is worn and there is major slop inside. Sometimes parts that are supposed to line up don't after alot of use.
