Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

Took my trucks out for a little exercise. Organized 1 drawer in my tool box and called it a day. LOL

Took the family to Bonefish Grill for a nice pig out session, time for a nap.

Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

I finally got a good 4l80e and cleaned up the throttle body and belt tensionor then installed a new tensionor pulley the old one was broke. Saturday I started tearing down my truck and gutted out the interior and removed the patch panels, Then I swapped over the parts from my good frame to my truck so I can clean up and paint the good suspension parts, Today I didn't get any thing done because of the snow

I left the three inch drop springs in for a simple install

Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

Drove out to the family farm to finish getting my 35 years of collection. Put 2 engines(SBC and 455 Buick), 5 auto transmissions, a couple spare heads, intakes, and tin, on the 3/4 to Xcab. Weighted it down so bad I had to leave the trailer and engine hoist. But all that's left there are tools.
Today I finished cleaning up my new Monojet, then took all the parts off the truck, stashed some in my barn, had to drop the big BOOick out side as I ran out of time to shuffle stuff, came in and celebrated the little one's 14th with shicken soup and chocolate cherry skillit cake. Yum!

Next: I disassemble and scrap an S10 blazer to fund the replacment for my rod knocking 6.2 diesel in the 87.

Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

I started working on my 4" shackle flip kit on thursday, finished it up friday afternoon. Took a little while but I'm really pleased with the results Worked all day Saturday and didn't get anything done today since it was dumping snow outside.

Well, I didn't get my 1 piece windows in or my headliner/sunvisors installed...for reasons out of my control. Anyone want to buy a partially finished 73 C10?

I got my truck into my garage finally. That took weeks of cleaning and organizing. I can imagine how long it'll take me to do what needs done to it. It could be years.

Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

Modified my rear shackles as posted yesterday. Today I ground and sanded by rear 3/4 ton leaf springs. I have 6 more to do before I prep them for paint. I had to quit to service my oil furnace in the house which I got done.

I intended to attend a local get together but the weather did not play along so the truck just sat. I did get some deer processed ans seasoned a batch of jerky. I hope to have a nice tasty snack soon.

Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

Installed the new pumps on my meters, repaired my tank straps(the PO trimmed the bolts off) installed the tanks and plumbed up the switching valve. Put the truck on the floor for the first time since Aug. Reinstalled the dash cluster, bezel and radio. Painted the grille under the cowl panel and stuck it and the cowl back on. Re-flared the return line to 37°. Installed a new fuel filter and started routing the pressure line All in all not too bad for a ½ Friday and Saturday. Next stop the rack, so I can finish the fuel line, trans lines and do the exhaust. Starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Jay

Yeah, that sucked as I had plans of going too.

Saturday the weather was awesome, so I played in the garage. I finally got my e3 ECU installed and the display mounted. I recalibrated the system to run off bag pressure, and it works great. Now I have to reinstall the ride height sensors and get that part working correctly.

As mentioned I had plans of going to a Rod Run on Sunday, but the weather was horrible. Probably a good thing I didn't go because I noticed a leak at the base of my water pump while taking some motor shots Saturday evening.

Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

Nothing truck related besides breaking down my clutch / brake pedal assembly I picked up at Christmas so my buddy can sandblast it for me along with a couple of other parts. I did manage to pick up this fine little backyard toy from a buddy for free. A little rough but, nothing and angle grinder and some paint can't take care off

Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

Got some snow here in central arkansas. So I tried out my crew cab 4x4 dually. First snow since I got my truck. Needless to say I am way impressed. I pulled out a 4x4 dodge. and took my pastor some rocks for his truck so he could get home. Also moved a van so a woman could get it parked and then took her home. Then today, I went to uams, a hospital in arkansas, and picked up our good freinds and brought them and their new twin daughters home. I think I love my truck. My wife says it is the best money we have ever spent.

Re: What did you get done 1/9/11 edition

Got new upholstery for my bench seat for xmas, finally got some time to install it. I have a whole new respect for the people that do upholstery for a living, that sucked. Luckily the foam was all in great shape, but had 2 broken springs from my fat butt that I had to repair. I'm satisfied with it for my first attempt at something like this.....but next time I'm dropping it off and writing a check.
