71-72 5 Lug Rear End
I have a line on a 71-72 C-10 5 Lug Rear end. Unknown Condition and unknown Gear ratio. The guy is asking $150 OBO... He said he'd pull the cover and figure out what the ratio is for me but since it's in a non-running truck so he doesn't know the condition... What would you guys pay for it?

Re: 71-72 5 Lug Rear End
I've seen them go from anywhere around $50 all the way upto $300....especially if it's a posi....I picked up a front and rear suspension from a 71 for $150???
I'd ask him to pull the cover, take pics of the carrier and ring....he could also jack up the rear, and spin the tires/axles to figure the ratio...if he cannot get a pic of the ratio that's stamped on the ring....let me know if you need pics of the rough location....good luck

Re: 71-72 5 Lug Rear End
Thanks for the heads up. I talked to the guy and he's going to do exactly that... Pull the cover and get me pics.
I also found out he's a member on here... It's always great to deal with guys on the board.

Re: 71-72 5 Lug Rear End
Here are some pictures of the rear end. I forgot to get the milage on the truck. The gear stamping showes 11-41 which is a 3.73 gear ratio.
