84 Wiper switch and Washer res bracket

back to the 84 Silverado. I have the intermittent wiper switch (with cruise control) and at this stage of it's life it pretty much does what it wants, when it wants to. The only function that is dependable is the high speed, even that when shutting it off you have to be talented to park the wipers low. So, can I assume that since the motor performs well at high speed, that it is the switch that should be replaced?

One other thing, I am missing all the washer components and see that it is all available after-market except the bracket that holds the washer fluid reservoir to the fender wall, any leads on where I can obtain this bracket ?

any and all suggestions welcome and as always, Thanks in advance for the help.

Pick N Pull for the bracket.

Self parking is controlled by a cam switch on the motor that interrupts the motor ground.
The parking switch and cam are inside the linkage gearbox. My best guess is the gearbox was disassembled in an attempt to repair the OEM washer pump... The wiper switch may be OK.

Is it best then to get the entire pump/motor assembly and hope the switch is good? thanks for the help.

If someone disassembled the motor gearbox it's probably missing pieces but only if it's been disassembled. If you're positive the motor has never been disassembled then it's the column switch.

If the motor pedigree is questionable do some detective work It could be either.
Pull the column switch plug off the pulse controller under the column and check the switch states against this diagram.

"check the switch states against this diagram"

I may need a little more info to perform the test you suggest...not really sure what you mean.. thanks.

I should mention that the "parking" of the wipers sometimes works, and sometimes not. Same goes for the low speed, sometimes they move in a stuttering jerky motion and sometimes they just stall completely mid cycle.
