Headlight Switch 1965 C10: Need Measurement

My parking lights are on all the time on my 1965 C10? I have a feeling my headlight switch isn't allowing me to push in the headlight knob all the way.

Could someone measure the total travel of the knob, from pushed in all the way, to pulled out all the way.

Your help would be sincerely appreciated.

John

1.5 inches from the furle to the end of the knob

On my 1960 it's 15/16 of an inch from the back of the knob to the bezel when pulled all the way out. I believe my headlight switch is a Ron Francis model, not the original.

John I had the issue with mine when I first picked the truck up, pulled the switch out and soak it down inside with dw-40, and shook out the excess, been fine ever sense.

My headlight switch pulls out about 1/2".

Could you re-measure this... I need to know how much the knob pulls out since I am running a non-stock ferrule on the dash.

Thanks

John; from the dash, not the furule 1 1/8 closed, 1 7/8 open to the top of the knob.

Thanks Rich, that explains it. I'll dig into it now that I am armed with some data.
