Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

Yay Or Nay?

I was wondering what everyone thought about a 22/24 staggered wheel set up. Was thinking about it, and since I found an extremely wide 24 tire, I thought it would be cool.. The truck would be bagged and sitting level.

I think it would be sick! If you can swing it, I say do it!

This is what im thinking, 22x10s up front (I already have them, I originally ordered them for the rear of the truck) and a 24x14 in the rear, with a 405/25/24 tire. Now to lay frame I would need to basically back halve the truck. So I just sent Art Morrison asking about this, they are local and I could save on the shipping costs.

The truck would have all the stock trim and everything except bagged with 22s and 24s.. I need to think hard about this because I cant just return a 24x14 wheel LoL

Re: Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

I think the 10's up front are going to be hard to fit inside the fenders, without the correct backspacing.
The rear will look sweet, with a 24x14,... but it will need to lay flat on the ground, to pull it off.
What's wrong with 22x8.5's and 22x10's?

If we are talking about the blue truck in your avatar I say say don't do it. Call me old fashion but I think it looks great the way it is. Looks like a real clean truck that I wouldn't be cutting up. But thats just me, I am sure it will great however you decide to do it.

Re: Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

Nothings wrong with 22s all around, was just thinking a 24x14 would be badass out back. My 22x10s have a 5" backspace, and i know the porterbuilt drop member pulls the wheels in like 1.25 inches on each side, I think the 10" wide would work..

Ya same truck, I wasnt satisfied with the look and thought I could do better. It looked great, dont get me wrong. I just feel I can do better. (Im a perfectionist) And this isnt something im doing for sure, just throwing around the idea.

Re: Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

here's Brown Bag on 22's and 24's and body dropped ...

The width in the front might give you a bit of a problem, but that just might mean cutting! Hope you do it !

My opinion is dont do staggered sizes. I dont think it works well on these trucks. Run the same size front and rear and stagger tire size instead

I agree to a point, I think they look better with staggered sizes when they are laid out, but if they are not bagged it looks funny.

Re: Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

I've come up with a decision for you. You can sell me your truck the way it is and start over on a project truck. Just a thought, hope I could help.

Re: Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

Valid point. They do look good laid, but thats it. Once you take it to ride height that goes aeaway. I'm not trying to be negative, but I think 24's are a but much too. Do 22x12 out back and call it good.

Ya ive started having second thoughts, I was thinking about a 22x12 but very limited on what I can run as far as a tire, I would like to have a tire thats taller then 28"s and all the 335 tires that I see are like 26inches tall..

Re: Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

What brand of 22's did you order?
Or is that a secret for now?

I like your idea of 22's, stock trim, and dropmembers.

Haha no its not a secret, they are Rushforth Wheels. Local guy here in Washington that started out doing renderings for people and about 2-3 yrs ago started designing his own wheels.

Here are the wheels on a Chevelle, Same finish too. They are Called "Rushforth Concept I's"

And a close up of the detail...

Re: Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

I'm thinking about this set-up on my truck too. I think it looks great laid out, but I have yet to see them at ride height. I don't think it would look too bad though.

Re: Thoughts on 22/24 Setups?

It looks ridiculous when the lip on a 24x14 rim is so huge you cant see the actual wheel maybe with a not so aggressive backspace it would look decent.
