I any ideas what this crusie control is out of? Was there factory crusie control in 68-72's?

I found this in the bottom of a box which had a wiring harness I bought for my 1972 pickup.

Believe the factory cruse on a 72 truck had a under dash button control verses a turn lever attached control. That looks like an aftermarket or dealer installed option.

I don't think thats a factory 68-72. The switch is wrong. Thats a late 70's switch. Rod had a pic of the factory set up and posted it one time. Might have come out of a later model truck. Of course that doesn't mean it won't work, just not original. Good luck, Jeff.

I have the same set up in my 72 Jimmy, and I am guessing that it was a dealer option. I took mine out and I had to put in a longer speedo cable, as well as put the wiring back to stock on the neutral safety switch.

The stock cruise that was on my dads 72 was on the turnsignal, but it looked like a regular turnsignal lever with a single button on the end, and it just said cruise with an arrow. That looks aftermarket to me!

This is the picture straight out of the shop manual. It shows all the parts for a factory cruise.

The one you have has the same brain/transducer as the late 60s early 70s Oldsmobiles and Buicks.My brother has a stock identical looking unit on his 442.and my stepdad on his 442.I have a couple of those also.the switch however looks aftermarket to me,or a later model.the factory 68-71 style cruise had a chrome handle with a button in the end.and the 72 had the switch under the dash that says cruise master.I have a 68 style for sale,and another out of a 70 thats missing a couple pieces.the turn signal handle is the same as ive removed from the 68 style Impalas,Chevelles,and Camaros.I have a nice unit out of a 69 427 Caprice also.

I had/have that same setup on my '72 3/4 ton. If its like mine, it doesn't work

I have removed most of it, but the speedo cable is still hooked up to what appears to be a complex thingamajig. The best place to store that cruse control is at a local landfill. That's just MHO.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
