Will I Need New Adjuster Sleeves?

I'm putting 73-87 modular spindles on my 71 project. I've also purchased the 73-87 outer tie rod ends. My question is whether or not the 73-87 outer tie rod ends will thread in to the factory 71 adjuster sleeves on the tie rod or will I need to buy some sort of adapter sleeve? Is anyone else running this setup and are there any other changes I'll need to make for the 73-87 spindles (besides upper ball joints)?

Thanks

Re: Will I Need New Adjuster Sleeves?

Jay,... the 71-72 tie rods and 73-87 tie rods are both 11/16" diameter.
So your 73-87 outers will connect fine to the 71-72 inners.
(the 67-70 trucks have 5/8" tie rods)
I really hate the looks of the oem tie rod connectors.
I use a threaded connector from Edelbrock.
(You can also get them from CPP, or PerformanceOnLine).
They are a very nice piece.

Your 71-72 upper ball joints need to be changed to the 73-87 version.
The lowers are the same part form 71-87.

Re: Will I Need New Adjuster Sleeves?

Thanks for the info Keith. I don't like the look of the stock tie rod connectors either so I definitely plan on changing that.
