Hood swap?

I really like the swept back look of front of the early models (67, 68, 69).
Can they be swapped for a later model. Basically are they all interchangeable?

Re: Hood swap?

They will bolt up ,but they will not line up with the leading edge of the fenders. Jim

Re: Hood swap?

In order to accomplish that you'd have to change fenders, radiator support, grille and hood. 67-68 Chevy and 67-72 GMC fenders are all the same (except 67's have no side markers) and 69-72 Chevy fenders are all the same. So you'd basically need 67-68 Chevy or 67-72 GMC fenders and radiator support from one of those years. The 67-68 Chevy radiator supports have single headlights while the 67-72 GMC radiator supports have dual headlights. Confused even more now?

There have been a few guys who grafted the 67 hood front section onto their 69 up hood and I believe one may be documented in our FAQ section. Kevin did one on project Low Buck. It should still be in the projects section. No fenders or rad support change is necessary with this method.
