1968 heater/defroster delete

Hi folks, I took everything from the interior on the 68. The previous owner put fabric all inside the interior. I am going back to painted metal with new carpet. The floors were in really great shape ( p.o. did the truck over ) My question is alot of my heater defroster is not connected/missing. I am thinking of removing the unit all togeather. I am planing on put a metal decorative plate of some type on the firewall. The type of driving i do does not require the use of the system. Has anyone done this before, any pitcures and advice appreciated. Thanks...Russ

I wouldn't call myself the king of anything! I do love trucks without heaters and all the other frilly options. It is a PITA to try and get parts repopped, though!
