A Long Time Follower Finally ,learns to Post.
Hello , everyone .I would like to start out by saying , I have been following this forum for years , I have never had to ask a question , due to the great wealth of info on this site, that is attributed to the great and talented members found here. I wanted to post a pic of my finished 1972 K5 , after 3 years , 3000 manhours and over 30k$ . Everything has been done by myself , I am a self taught, by trial and error Truck nut . Thanks for all the info found here . Now that I have introduced myself and mustered up the courage to tackle the task of setting up a profile, I will try and chime in from now then .Here is just a few pics out of about 700. I hope they loaded .

Looks great! How much work did you do to your hard top? Did it need a lot of fiberglass repair or did you just paint it?

Re: A Long Time Follower Finally ,learns to Post.
D. Passmore. Thanks yes its a skyjacker 6"softride w 2" body lift.(reason for body lift ) was trying to keep them Boggers from scrubbing the paint off the fenders , and it worked. The top was in horrible shape, there was large busted areas ,it was seperating at every seam , and the hatch had all but fell apart. I repaired all busted areas , used seam sealer at seperated areas; and seperated the hatch , added supports and re fiberglass the sections .powdercoated all hardware ,I scrubber the top w/ butchers blast , primed and painted it the same color as the interior, a saddle brown . havent seen another like it yet . heres a few more pics

Re: A Long Time Follower Finally ,learns to Post.
The nerf bars are DEE-ZEE universal bars, the only ones that were even close to fitting , I tried 3 pairs before finding these on line. they were 250$. I made 2 support brackets on each side and they work nicely

Re: A Long Time Follower Finally ,learns to Post.
The tires are 14.5 x 35 x15 Boggers on custom made 14" wide chevy rallies w/ bands and new centercaps , I took 8 chevy rally wheels had them cut and welded back together to make them 14' wide then powder caoted w/ satin black .

Kool, thanks for the info. What kind of paint for the topper - 2k poly? Do you have brand and paint code? The repairs were done with what brand of fiber glass. Your build in really inspiring me to hit mine a little harder when I have the time. Thanks
