woodgrain tailgate band

way above driver quality-you could almost put this on a show truck. i would put it on my '71 swb show truck if it had mouldings. $150 plus the ride. u.s.p.s. m.o. or personal check o.k.

Re: woodgrain tailgate band

THe OP was last on the board on 2/11...I will bring this to the attention of other staff members...and see if there is another way to contact him. I would consider sending an email through paypal or if you have his email or phone number trying to contact him. I will monitor this thread to see if/how he responds. Hopefully it's just a shipping issue and will be resolved soon.

Glad you got in touch with him. Let us know when you get your parts.

Re: woodgrain tailgate band

I received the tailgate band yesterday. Great job packaging it in a custom plywood box.

I know LINELOCK said it was oem but I have never seen one with plastic letters. They are painted silver as well. Does anyone know of a site or source that can confirm this actual gm? Should there be a number stamped on it somewhere? thanks....

FYI, I have contacted LINELOCK and he has offered a refund. I really don't want to send it back if this is the real deal. I haven't been able to find out if there was some GM parts that went out with plastic letters either chromed or painted.

Re: woodgrain tailgate band

Mike,... I found this thread.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=tailgate+band

I would also like to know the facts.
You may have to start your own thread to get an answer.

Plus the new repop bands are around $160.
How are they different from the 2 NOS versions?

Re: woodgrain tailgate band

I had an NOS band on my blue/white truck that was repaired in the 80's. The parts sticker was still on it, as well as the stickers on the rear bumper and brackets. The letters were painted silver. I do not remember the parts numbers specifically, but it falls in line with the information discussed in the thread posted by lolife above.

Yes, the NOS bands with the plastic silver painted letters are the "real deals." They were the NOS replacement parts of the end of the production run...probably in the 80s as mentioned above. I have one for my build. I purchesed NORS metal chrome letters to replace the silver letters, as I prefer the metal chrome ones. But, yes, they are GM NOS parts.
