'73-'79's Composite Headlight Conversion

Hello all

These caught my attention while surfing:

http://store.yahoo.com/rodi/ckseries.html

I'm curious what you all think. It would be nice to ditch the the drap headlights on my '78 for something different, something brighter. But, they only have it for a H6024 headlight. I think that the '73's to '79's had H6014's. What's the difference? Has anyone installed these? Any opinions?

Thanks, Bob

I've never done it but I think Swervin Ervin did a coversion on his later model truck that gave it brighter lights. Might ask him on his conversion.

I just went to a show this weekend, here's a pic of the h/l conversion. I don't know whare they came from, but Bosch and Hella both make sets very similar too.

The headlight was actually off but even reflected the flash!

Mike changed to Sylvania SilverStars which retails for about $25 each and has HID type brightness.

Thanks for the feedback

WOW, those 7" blue dot tri bar headlights at RB look great

The H6024 Sealed Beam Conversion Kit at MM looks like a good buy too: http://www.midnightmoose.com/housings.htm

Looks like I've got another project for the '78

I don't know of any magazine that's out there

Well I ordered two of the 7" Round Housings (Uses H4 Bulb) from Midnight moose - thanks LOHRTBT

Also already picked up two "cool blue" 60/55W sylvania lamps, and, well, I couldn't resist and already plugged one in to compare it to the stock. Looks pretty good! Can't wait to get them in!

Total cost including shipping for the new housings: $70.00. I'll let you all know how they turn out.

Bob

I went to the LiteGlow website to see info on them and this is what I got:
Great for car shows or sporting events. Built in cup holders and easy folding design.

WTF????? Uhhh.... cupholders? Hmm.... that would be interesting to see....

I remember seeing conversion Projectors just like those but can't find where I saw them. They were cool! Can anyone help me out? Do those kits come with wiring adaptors so you don't have to splice?

Cupholders? - Well, that's to help keep your coffee warm in the morning while driving to work

Try these sites that I've been looking at:

http://www.midnightmoose.com/housings.htm
or
http://www.midnightmoose.com/hhousings.htm
(7" housings are at the bottom of each)

$$$ http://www.midnightmoose.com/6000k.htm $$$
(H4 is available in pulldown menu)

The midnight moose kits require no splicing. Just plug in like you used to. The adapter is included.

Thanks for the information guys.

And judging by you guys buying the 6024, these will fit with my 6014s in my '77? How does the Xenon MM swends with the set compare to my sealed halogens?

I dunno what a 6014 is, but your 77 has a 7" round sealed beam headlights and this kit will fit. Is that what you are asking?
