Voltage regulator?

My new ac deco voltage regulator is buzzing really loud. What's going on it's brand new? My old one was working but thought I would replace it since it's the original.

Re: Voltage regulator?

Make sure it's grounded good to the core support. The buzzing is the relay inside that is engaging and releasing very rapidly. There should be a short wire from the core support to the body of the regulator.

Re: Voltage regulator?

My new AC Delco regulator buzzes also...seems like I am overcharging according to my volt meter. Installed the old regulator and all is well. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Voltage regulator?

Just because something is new it dosnt mean its not broken. Ive installed a few ''new'' broken parts in my time.
