Tubular A-Arm Billet Brakeline Clamps

After seeing the brake line clamps that member SCOTI's had made for his RideTech tubular a-arms,... I started the hunt for a set for my truck.
I stumbled upon Dan's Performance Parts.(http://www.dansperformanceparts.com/)
They sell all kinds of billet brackets for anything with tubes.
(mainly for VW rail buggy's)

I found exactly what I was looking for.
1.250" x 1/4" brakeline clamps.
The best part,... only $7.95 each.

Don't expect Body Coddington quality one-off billet brackets,... but they are nice enough to hold a brake line.

I took my air 90 grinder and roughed up the I.D. of the tube hole, to help it stay in place,... and to add a little needed clearance, to help fit the a-arm tube.
(The clamp hole was about .010" smaller than the tube)

I think I'm going to take mine off and beadblast them to a natural finish,... or maybe even paint them black.

But for $16,... I think they will work fine.

Those look good. Scot and I did a lot of searching trying to find some that the small hole was large enough for the stock brake line. We found several different styles but none with a larger hole. Thats what prompted him to have a set made.

What size hole do you need for the stock brake lines?
I think these could be drilled larger on the "little end".

I think the OD of a stock rubber lines is 3/8". That ones seems to have a lot more meat on the small end than the ones we looked at.

These could easily be opened up to 3/8"

Sounds like you have found the solution for our needs. Is that polished or chrome finish?

Nice tip. I was looking for the same sort of way to hold my brake hose in place.

Polished.
I bought two sets (trying to get one-up on that $9.95 shipping and handling charge).
I think I will take the other set to work and bead blast them.
They look chrome,... but they are just polished.

I've had four of these since July.......I was going to mill them out, your way looks a lot faster and easier.

I was going to make some at work,... but they frown on using the shop for "goverment jobs".
I think they would be good for air ride, air lines,... if you have a lot of tubing in your framework.

3/8" was the magic number. Like Ken mentioned, mine became paper thin @ the tip once drilled out (w/a hand drill). The set I had made were 1/8" longer so the hole could be offset the same amount.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Like I mentioned last night... like the clamps. Definitely a great addition to the chassis.

Just throwing a bunch of part together.
I don't stay focused too long on any one thing.
