Hydraulic jack question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a Craftsman 1 1/2-ton floor jack that I bought in '82. I believe the seals are now bad in the pump. Sears doesn't list it in their parts system anymore. This jack was built in Japan, so I have faith that there are parts to do repairs, so just looking for anyone who may have any experience with these jacks.

(Mods, if this needs to go to another forum, have at it. I didn't find one that looked good)

Check out a hydraulic pump service in you area. They can rebuild that thing at a reasonable cost.

just sounds like it is time for a new jack to me i couldn't take a chance on rebuilding an old jack

go on over to www.garagejournal.com and do a search ... there is a guy there that specializes in rebuilding those jacks ...

Its probably cheaper to buy a brand new 3 ton than it is to rebuild an old 1.5 ton. You should be using a 3 ton anyhow if your picking up truck and heavy vehicles.
