Stock Radio Cutout
Does anyone know if there is a template for the stock radio cutout? Mine was only cut a bit, so I think we're going to try to smooth the existing cutout and then cut a new one to the stock size. I can't justify buying an entire patch panel just to fix the small amount of metal that was cut.
Thanks! |

Re: Stock Radio Cutout
Run down to ur local junkyard and make a quick template. Other cars and trucks should have about the same size hole, granted their from that era.

Re: Stock Radio Cutout
You could find a radio delete plate and run an IPod, I think the new Nano has an FM tuner also. See the attached thread.

Re: Stock Radio Cutout
If worse comes worse, get youself a small piece of aluminum, cut and drill to fit your radio, but larger than the actual opening, buff it down and install as a face plate, I `ve done it on my last `65, sets off the radio.

Re: Stock Radio Cutout
the 60 gmc is the wrong size shape, the radios changed to a skinnier wider face in 64...
I have a couple good dashes that I could get a template for you, or if you want to stop by next time you are in town..

Re: Stock Radio Cutout
Thanks everyone,
I'll go check at my local junkyard, or go visit Jon next time I'm in his neck of the woods. |
