West Coast Jr. Mirrors - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am looking to repaint and return the family 68 C-10 to its original configuration.

That would mean four things: paint all over, return grill from white to argent silver, put the orignal base hubcaps back on (take off full wheel caps), and put the original "West Coast Jr." mirrors back on.

But I have a question: how easy is to see out of the WC Jr. mirror?

I guess I can have someone hold them up at the right level and look, but can anybody advise from experience where the blind spots with the WC mirrors as opposed to the single stem ones, and any other practical considerations (other than they stick out farther)?

Mines a Panel.I have blind spots on the passenger side.In a PU you could just look over your shoulder.I did put some "Sweet Spot" stick on convex mirrors on the bottom of them and it helped a lot.I can see just as well as in any other Panel or truck with topper I've ever driven.I don't think I could drive a Panel without them,I've owned 3 and driven 3/4 others and all had JWC's on them.

There is a reason semi tractors use them.

Thanks. I believe remember my aunt telling me it was hard to see the car right behing you with those mirrors on.

Here is a picture of west coast mirrors, hopefully you can see that I have panoramic mirrors on the frames. Some people may call them wide angle also.

My '92 GMC K-3500 has the stick on wide angle mirrors on both sides they really help. I got them at a local auto parts store.

That's what the center rear veiw is for.

west coast JR's are going to be the best visable "original" mirror... the small round and rectangle one's will be more difficult, but depending on the look you are going for they might fit the truck better.

My 68 has west coast jr's but I don't know if I am going to put them back on since they are very "bulky" looking... we shall see.

I have a white set and stainless set to test fit for looks...
