I was working on a reply for you, until I realized you're trying to convert an '89 Suburban. Since the '89 Suburban is still a square body, you'll probably be able to better find someone to help if you posted this in the '73-'91 SUV forum or even the '73-'87 truck forum.

I have done a similar swap on a 70 c10. I dont know if these parts would work on your 89, but a swap rotor for the front and maybe you can take the axle shafts out ( or complete axle) of the 4x4 and put them in the 2 wheels axle?

What is the wheel mounting surface to surface width on both assemblies? Spring perch width on both? Can you just swap complete assemblies by moving the perches and maybe using an adapt-a-joint. The other option maybe to have the axles cut down and re-splined, if the wheel bearing is the same. You could order custom axles from someone like Dr.Diff. One thing to keep in mind is no matter what you do, you have to figure on brakes that match.

Re: 89 burban 5 lug to 6ug conversion with oem parts is it possible?
I just went 6-lug to 5-lug:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=433726 There is a post in there about the spline count being different for 1989-91 so your parts truck might have what you need. I believe that CPP or ECE (or PDQ?!?) makes a 6-lug rotor for 67-72 trucks that have converted to the "newer" '73-87 style front suspension but want to maintain the 6-lug for originality.
