Rick, i know i have, and feel sure most of the guys on here have been in this situation..
i know u have heard the line .."walk away from it... do something else, and come back to it later"....... this helps sometimes...

Re: man what is it with the body gaps on these trucks i am pissed!
I hear you, my truck had issues like that when I was assembling it after it had been apart for close to 5 years. It takes a lot of patience to get it right sometimes, what I would try is to use a Portapower or a small bottle jack to "push" the fender forward from underneath, then bolt it on to hold it forward.

Does your dad have a lamb's paw (nail puller),some call them cat's paws. That is the best tool, other than a hubcap removal tool,I have found.

I would try loosening the core support to frame bolting. Also loosen all the fender bolts front and rear. (maybe even the inner fender rear bolts) The fender will come off the truck,... so it will also move forward. If your truck has frame damage, that might have to be addressed before you start elongating bolt holes.

"Lowlife" hit the nail on the head...Loosen the core supports and the fender bolts at the core support, that should give at least 3/8" forward slop. PS. Bend the last inch or so of a large screwdriver at a 90 degree right angle and you have a hub cap puller.

These frames definitely flex. With the lower rear fender bolt loose, try jacking up just the front right frame horn as far forward as you can(as close to the front bumper as you can get your jack). I think you will see that lower gap open up. Tighten up the lower bolt and lower the truck back to the ground. You should have your desired gap.
