W/C tremec 5 quetion

In my 67 i have a t18 right now and was given a t5 out of a 89 camaro. the problem is that it doesn't have a bell-housing. the question i have is if the t5 can bolt to the t18 bell-housing and work or do i need to buy a bell-housing and convert to hydraulic clutch? i know everyone hates these trannies but it was free and who complains about free right?

T5 is alright in the correct application. Especially the WC trans. The Camaro trans uses a rotated bellhousing, so if you mount the trans straight up, the shifter is rotated as well as the trans mount. It can be done and then you can modify a shifter handle and mount. Or you can change the tailshaft housing. Here is a site where you can get more info on T5's. You can read hours on this subject. T5's came in a lot of different vehicles, so lots of different combos. Mustangs, Jeeps, S-10, Camaro/Firebird, Datsun 280ZX Turbo to name a few. I think McCleod makes a scattershield that uses both trans patterns and lets you use mechanical linkage?

My brother has one in a 66. Have to shorten the input shaft, drill out some holes and probably chabge the cluth depending on how many splines you have.

Also, is it a mechanical or electric speedo?
