Radiator mounting pictures

I am in the process of restoring my 63 c10 and the previous owner installed what looks like a 60-62 radiator and hood. The frame has been notched and spacers to bolt it to the core support are made from uneven lenth conduit. I would like to repair the frame and save the radiator as it looks new. I am interested in pictures of 60-62 radiator mounts please.

Re: Radiator mounting pictures

Here's a 64 with V8 radiator, which is taller than the radiator for a 6-cylinder. Hope this helps.

I don't have photos of the lower mounts, but basically a V8 radiator sits on top of the frame rails in two U-shaped saddles.

Re: Radiator mounting pictures

As a follow-up, the 6-cyl radiator is narrower, slides down BETWEEN the frame rails, and rests on a light piece of angled steel, which is probably what your previous owner attempted to re-create with the conduit.

I appreciate your desire to save the radiator, but getting a new V8 radiator would eliminate any need to fabricate. As I said, the wider V8 radiator rests on TOP of the frame rails. You can get the lower saddles from someone like LMC, find a top mount like the one in my photos online or at a swap meet, and you're done.

My radiator is a new stock replacement 64 C10 V8 radiator by Modine. I bought it several years ago at a local radiator shop for $240.

It's also quite a bit more radiator, helpful when cooling a V8.
