DD steering shafts question

Dumb question, but I haven't been able to get the answer.
3/4" Double D steering shafts....
Is that 3/4" between the flat machined surfaces?
Or, I'm thinking it's probably the size of the shaft before machining?

Re: DD steering shafts question

It's the o.d. of the shaft, that is 3/4".
Mine shows about 9/16" between the "flats".

Re: DD steering shafts question

Thanks, that's what I was thinking it was.
I was looking for one to fit a S-10 column but it's about 1" on the round portion and 3/4" flat sides. So, that won't work.
Back to the drawing board.

Thanks. That's who I always deal with on suspension or steering parts. I had checked their print catalog before I posted this but only saw 3/4, I'll check their online catalog since it's more detailed.

I saw those (which I'll need one of those also) but I'm looking for some 1" DD shaft.
