Almost wrecked my Blazer!!!!!!

I had to put my 72 2wd blazer and my motorcycle in a temp shed for a short period of time. During that time we have had a near record amount of snowfall. To make a long story short. The shed collapsed.

Luckily enough the shed was only about two feet from the house. When it collapsed, the shed came to rest on top of the truck and against the house. The house stopped the shed from totally ruining my truck/bike. As you can see from the pics, a support came very close to the hood. The middle support landed on the top. Apparently 39 year old fibreglass is pretty strong, the indentation popped right out and only left a 12-18 inch scratch.

I would have cleaned the snow off prior to the collapse but I am in the process of moving and forgot all about it. The sad part is, I was going to move it two days after it happened.

Re: Almost wrecked my Blazer!!!!!!

It was bolted to the concrete. Never even thought about snow load.

Re: Almost wrecked my Blazer!!!!!!

Not a chance, the sports are about the kids not the parents. I just wish other parents would figure that out. When I played I had several friends who quit because of their parents.

Re: Almost wrecked my Blazer!!!!!!

Unfortunately there are way too many parents like that out there. My mom sits on one of the local sports councils. She was just telling me how they have suspended more parents than players this year.

Re: Almost wrecked my Blazer!!!!!!

I had the same thing happen last winter but to my 23' cabin cruiser. I had the legs bolted to concrete filled buckets,so wind was never a problem. That didnt help during that 20" snow storm we had last year. I found out how hard it is to find a windshield for a 20 year old boat!

Re: Almost wrecked my Blazer!!!!!!

The Brick and and old folks home by you had the same problem. You need to move to the sunny south Okanagan. Lakes everywhere, hockey schools, no traffic, and you can keep the top off from april to september.
