Wooden box for you truck bed
I have a nice 72 step side with some fresh wood, I'm going to make a box for the back and give it a classic look. Also a good way to cover the dents in the back haha. I was wondering what you guys have seen? picts? ideas?

What do you mean; like a wooden tool box in lieu of the typical diamond plate on newer trucks? Maybe an old fashioned treasure chest would like kinda cool.

Re: Wooden box for you truck bed
This is how I covered my dents and added storage on both sides for my battery, toolbox, and other stuff

Re: Wooden box for you truck bed
Here's one that I built for a '33 Ford pick up. I kept it when I sold the truck, but it's not much use on the flatbed....too hard to get into. It worked fine in the '33 though. Oil, water, tools, just about anything you'd put in a car trunk.
Now it's a piece of furniture in the living room.

Both of those are very nice. I'm going for more of a classic box look. I like the color on yours slomotion. Looks like I'll need to go buy some trim.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...hlight=storage I really like this, if my truck wasn't a step side I'd steal the idea. I also saw several threads by you looking for this idea :P I really like the idea of an antique chest, but I know it would be too hard to find the right one. |

Re: Wooden box for you truck bed
You could frame a box out, cover it with either wood or laminate flooring (they make distressed flooring for the antique look,) get some wrought iron angle iron for trim, and there you go.

Re: Wooden box for you truck bed
I got some wood and got to cutting
49"x17"x18" Basically it's a simple box, but I now need to think of the trim idea... Trim on the bottom and top? On the 4 corners horizontally? No trim? Top trim only? bottom trim only? Times I wish I knew photo shop |
