trannsmision delima????

so here's my problem i already have a 4l80e mounted in my truck with the stall i paid 400$ dollars for but i still gotta buy the computer thats 900$ and deal with running all the wires and what not. I have been on ebay looking at maddog and goodfellas trannys now i know they used to work together and had a falling out but that was sometime ago and seem to have there stuff together now a days and they claim they have a 700r with stall that can hold 550hp for 1100$ with unlimted mile 2 year warranty which just seems so much easier to install and mess with what are ur guys opinion have u dealt with either of them?

FYI GOING BEHIND 396 BBC ROUGHLY 500HP

Re: trannsmision delima????

Behind the BBC, I'd say your 4L80E is a better choice. I know the standalone controllers are spendy, but you don't need it! You can get a boneyard computer, 16197427 ECM, and harness and strip it down and program it as a controller. In fact, you can get bin files from the internet because a bunch of us made this work when swapping 80s into our SyTys after blowing up too many 60s when we built the motors. You will need to probably find a computer tuner that still does EPROMS to program one for you. I can link you to bin files if needed. My "recycled" controller was a total investment of $180 (I had an IT buddy that burned my EPROM).
